BECOME A USO VOLUNTEER

USO Northwest Florida is recruiting volunteers for all shifts to work at the USO Recreation Center on Naval Air Station Pensacola.  The USO Recreation Center, the “Hangar”, is open seven days a week and 99% of our staffing comes from volunteers.  As a volunteer you would serve a three or four hour shift and perform a host of duties.

Attending a Volunteer Orientation is the first step you need to take to become a USO volunteer. It gives you a general overview of what programs and services we offer, what is expected as a volunteer, duties etc. It is an opportunity to decide if being a USO volunteer is something that you really want to do.

If you are still interested in volunteering after the orientation, you will be given the application paperwork to complete and schedule an interview with Kathy Karsten, Program Manager. 

 Once through that hurdle you will need to attend one of our Initial Training sessions held Thursdays and Saturdays at 4 pm also at our NAS location, which will give you a general overview of operations, policies and procedures. This is followed by OJT shadowing with the Program Manager, NAS Center Manager, or an experienced volunteer.
