USO Fort Riley opened May 25, 2010, serving troops and family members stationed at Fort Riley. The center is open 365 days a year and provides a variety of programs for the military community.
The 7,000+ square foot USO center features a computer lab with 9 Internet computers and WiFi connectivity throughout the center; a video gaming area with Xbox®, Sony Playstation 3, and Nintendo® Wii™ consoles; a library and family room; pool, air hockey, foosball, shuffleboard, poker and chess tables; a movie theater with a large DVD and Blu-ray library; 9 televisions with DirecTV®; a United Through Reading® recording area and fire places.
“We want this center to serve as a home away from home for our service members and families – a place for them to relax and have a fun time,” said Director, April Blackmon.
The USO relies on the generosity of the American public to support its network of more than 160 centers worldwide. Corporate in-kind donations and sponsorships, along with volunteer hours and monetary contributions, help make the USO a success.
