The Kaiserslautern Kabel is a monthly magazine published by the Kaiserslautern USO. It reaches an audience of approximately 60,000 American service members, civilians, and their families, and is further read by many local Germans and NATO personnel stationed in the Kaiserslautern area. The Kabel carries information on the USO and its many activities, places of interests, things to do, and general information that helps people adjust to living in Germany. Color: 4-color cover and, when advertising supports it, color on inside pages.
Distribution: The Kabel is distributed to military installations in Kaiserslautern, Vogelweh, Ramstein, Miesau, Sembach, Landstuhl, and Baumholder. Distribution points include commissaries and exchanges, military banks and post offices, military hotels, community centers and clubs, military hospitals and clinics, and other prime places where Americans gather. Distribution is continually monitored and adjusted for maximum effectiveness. Kabel advertisers have further access to the community through five USO centers, where advertisers are welcomed to leave brochures, flyers, and other information on their businesses. These offices are public places with heavy traffic, such as the passenger terminal at Ramstein and the hospital at Landstuhl. The USO also conducts weekly newcomers orientations for the Army and Air Force. During these orientations, Kabels are given to participants.
Das Kaiserslautern Kabel ist eine monatliche Zeitschrift die vom Kaiserslautern USO veröffentlicht wird. Diese Zeitschrift wird von etwa 60.000 amerikanischen Militärangehörigen, Zivilisten, und deren Familien, sowie von vielen Deutschen und NATO Angehörigen in dieser Umgebung gelesen. Das Kabel enhält Information über das USO und dessen Tätigkeit, über viele interessante und sehenswerte Orte, was man unternehmen kann, aber auch allgemeine Information, die behilflich ist bei der Anpassung an das Leben in Deutschland. Dazu gehören all amerikanischen Geschäfte, Banken, Postämter, Hotels, Klubs, Hospitäler und Kliniken, und ansonstige Stellen wo sich Amerikaner zusammenfinden. Die Verteilung wird ständig überwacht und der Nachfrage angepasst. Kabelinseranten haben auch weiterhin die Möglichkeit ihre verschiedenen Prospekte und Werbungsmittel in den 5 USO Büroräumen zu hinterlassen. Diese USO Büros sind für das Publikum geöffnet und werden auch ständig besucht wie zum Beispiel das Flughafengebäude in Ramstein, order das Hospital in Landstuhl.
